Put on your own oxygen mask first...

I haven't found time to read Scream Free Parenting by Hal Runkel yet, but this chapter title caught my eye. Put on your own oxygen mask first. As we've flown so much recently we've heard that phrase over and over. Why do they say that? Because in case of emergency if you don't put on your own oxygen mask, you won't be able to help your child and you'll both end up dead.

As we've been parenting for a scant three weeks, I can see what he means. I've got to take care of myself in order to better care for Micah. I can't wait to dig into this book.

Since no post is complete without a picture of our little guy, here he is helping Baba install the coat hooks:

This is SO hard, but so true! It sounds like you are learning at a rapid pace.

We were sorry to have missed Hal Runkel at FF, but we really want to read his book. Now finding time to read...that is another challenge!

Keep the pics coming!

Yes, you must take care of yourself or noone will like the mommy you become! Love the pics, especially of the boys grillin'!

Hi Karen,

So good to see pics of you guys. Micah looks great and sound like he's fitting right in. Dominic has been asking about him so I'll have to show him Micah in his hard hat, he'll love it. We are getting back into the swing of things around here. Take care and tell Bruce "Hi" for me.

Congratulations!!! What a beautiful little boy! I'm impressed ya'll are already out doing sleepovers!! We had some tough months with our little one, too, while she recovered from her trauma. It is hard to watch, at least now, though, you have him with you and it sounds like you're making progress. Hope you'll all get some sleep.
