Old Friends Who've Just Met

We had the most wonderful pleasure of meeting a long-time online friend, Julie, along with her husband and son, Nathan (also adopted from China). They were passing through on their way to North Carolina, so they stopped for dinner and some hang time with us.

We all piled onto the golf cart and went to our favorite family-friendly hamburger joint.
After dinner we took the boys to a playground to burn off a little energy. Nathan had been in the car all day and was a little wired. Of course Micah spent the day asking (and signing) for "more Nathan!"
It was so neat to see the boys play together. They, too, appeared to be old friends. Although Nathan has been home for a year and a half, he and Micah are only one month different in age.
Here's our version of the Red Couch photo!
None of us wanted the evening to come to a close, so we hang out in the hotel lobby taking pictures of the boys playing.

I don't think it's the last we'll see of Nathan and his family!
There's not a word yet for old friends who've just met
Part heaven, part space, or have I found my place?
You can just visit, but I plan to stay.
I'm going to go back there someday.

Geez, Karen! The boys look like they could be brothers!

Love the pictures of the two of you. DH and I met on the internet. We were best friends before we met in person.

We had so much fun! You and Bruce are great hosts. We loved meeting everyone and seeing the boys together was so heartwarming.

I just loved meeting you in person and it was even better than I imagined -- like we had always known each other in person.

I have a WONDERFUL friend that I met online as we waited for our daughters in 2002. We eventually traveled to China together--twice! Now, 6 years later we meet every February and spend a week at the beach in the summer!

I can't imagine not having her and her family in our lives!

Cherish this friendship.

We had such a great time last night. All the way home Eli talked about his new friend Micah and kept asking to go to his house. He doesn't understand that you all live far away. I hope you have a wonderful time at the lake!
